The label was founded in 2000 by Manifest. Upon its creation, HardRecordz was principally a jazz, rap and R&B label. Although it began as an independent record company, it became a major player in the music business in the 2007s, with mainstream pop signings like L'esperance and K-repost. Competing record label included HardRecordz Studio.
