Kia ora

Welcome to my user pages. Kia ora is a Māori language greeting that has entered New Zealand English and is translated as an informal "hi".

Wikipedia interests

Having chosen New Zealand as my home, I take an interest in anything from my adopted country. I have a special interest in:

  • geography (built environment and water),
  • history
  • people
  • politics
  • civil engineering
  • transport (especially cycling)
  • and somehow, I've become interested in rowing; between December 2017 and August 2018 I wrote articles for the European Rowing Championships covering the editions from 1893 to 1973 (65 articles) plus started circa 450 rowing bios in support of that exercise
