Welcome!

Hello, 1779Days, and

welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as John Hulbert (executioner), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines
, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called

helpme
}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Oddbodz (talk) 21:39, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for August 19

Hi. When you recently edited Advanced Compatibility Engineering, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Honda Odyssey (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Spelling Bees

Hello, saw your old comment at Talk:Scripps_National_Spelling_Bee#Filling_in_the_article_gap and replied. If you are interested, please see the template I created for the yearly articles, first applied at 68th Scripps National Spelling Bee. Ideally we'll have photos of the winners over time and not just the location. I haven't delved into whether a non-free use picture can be used, as I try to avoid irking the copyright police around here.--Milowenthasspoken 17:11, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why?

Why revert them all? It's completely unnecessary for the DOB's to be listed and a BLP violation for this list: List of people scheduled to be executed in the United States. Took me ages to do all that so please change it back. Inexpiable (talk) 10:13, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The only ones I'm reverting are the ones for the offenders who have already been executed, so there's no BLP violation. As for "completely unnecessary", there could be some uses for the DOB's being on there, and the sources have the birth dates anyway. 1779Days (talk) 10:16, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What use? Why is there DOB necessary when the ages are listed right next to it anyway? The lists should all be the same, it's silly having one page say different things compared to the others and listing DOB's. If you want to change them start a discussion for reverting all of them please. Inexpiable (talk) 10:18, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also in the later lists like here: List of people executed in the United States in 2015 and for the years beyond, there are no sources for the DOB's anyway. It is silly to have them listed in earlier years and not in later years. Inexpiable (talk) 10:20, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is not silly, because the difference is that the earlier years are sourced. Including the DOB's, for one, gives us the exact age instead of a range, and two, highlights when, for example, an execution was in very close proximity to an offender's birthday. It may not have much use to most people, but it does have some and Wikipedia's job is to provide as comprehensive of coverage as possible. Even for living offenders, in many cases their birthdates are provided by the prison service anyway. 1779Days (talk) 10:23, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
