Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Lindworm into King Lindworm. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 14:36, 6 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address
, and you didn't make the edit, please ignore this notice.

Thanks for adding those sources. It would certainly be much nicer to add something to the text, citing the sources, rather than having them orphaned in the newly-created 'Further reading' section - I've always wondered what the reader makes of such a thing, other than that it looks like academic apparatus... after all, if the papers are worth mentioning, it must be because they say something worthwhile, no? --- in which case, the obvious question is, what is that? The world would like to know. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:06, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Chiswick. As you can see in my edit history, I sometimes add a "further reading" section to some aricles (History, Literature, Mythology) where there is already a nice corpus of citations in the main body of the article, but I see that some academic references I find interesting slip by and/or I can't quite add to the text. So I leave them in a "further reading" in case some future editor feels curious enough to take a gander at them. Thank you. 189.122.57.144 (talk) 21:41, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh dear. Well, yes, we're all volunteers, and while some can leap tall buildings with a single bound, others can only clear a matchbox. The trouble, obviously, is that the matchbox-trudgers outnumber the supermen by a large ratio, so "further readings" tend to accumulate for years on end. Like an attic full of clutter, the junk is not quite atrocious enough to throw out, nor valuable enough to flog on Ebay, so it bulks out the articles into shapeless couch-potato folds of impossible-to-shift flab, threatening to paralyse them forever into unreadable immobility. But I guess it's a contribution. Chiswick Chap (talk) 21:57, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if it is any consolation, I do return to some "further reading" articles down the line to comb them over for some relevant information. After I see something interesting, I add it to the main text and transform it into bibliography. 189.122.57.144 (talk) 22:01, 3 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, user Chiswick Chap. I took your advice and looked into the "Further reading" I put earlier. The German-language article had some interesting information both on Nodens and Saxnat. So thank you. 189.122.57.144 (talk) 21:54, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear it. Good luck with your editing - the next step will be to make use of what you find in your reading to add claims to the text, and cite them to the sources. For me, anything in a "further reading" section is a gap - implying that useful facts are waiting to be added to the article. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:01, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Homophonous deities in other pantheons?

Hey. Answer is "no". Abraham Frentzel, who lists Puscetus, is accused of copying deities/spirits from Prussian mythology. You can already see that information in

Chernobog#Later sources. Looks like Jutrobog and Marava are the only possible authentic deities, however these are also ignored by modern scholars. PS You should register eventually, your edits are useful and it would make it easier to contact you. :) Sławobóg (talk) 19:36, 22 May 2021 (UTC)[reply
