Thanks. I've proposed Deforestation in Sri Lanka for a DYK. Dr. Blofeld White cat 10:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC) Thanks. Well I'm considering starting an article on Tea production in Sri Lanka. I thinhk we could write an excellent article on the history of tea production and economy and that. Interested? I'd like to do a world series on tea production like I've done with coffee, rice and bananas! Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:27, 22 April 2009 (UTC) Excellent. Could you expand the Tea production in Sri Lanka into the article it deserves? I want to see a long detailed history and evaluation of it! I love tea! Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:39, 22 April 2009 (UTC) Cool. I'll let you write it as you are the expert from a Sri Lankan tea district! I'll help you out by compiling some web sources you can use in the talk page along with books you have. Dr. Blofeld White cat 13:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

I've compiled some sources at Talk:Tea production in Sri Lanka. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:12, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

GA for starters. I would really love to work towards an FA with you. There is definately enough sources that could be used to write an excellent detailed article on this. I haven't got any FAs lined up at the moment but it would be good to have one article in the pipeline. If you compare the article as it is now compared to how it will look when we've finished it will feel like quite an achievement. I think it would be good to have a featured article on a topic like this for Sri Lanka but it will take a lot of work. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:27, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Good idea. Use this timeline to draw the bones up for the history. Then other sources can be used to flesh it out. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

OK buddy i'll get cracking on the historu tonight Dr. Blofeld White cat 16:01, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Definately don't need to cut sdown the history I haven't finsished writing it yet!! We want this article to be full and concise. Its the other sections that need to be fleshed out. Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:35, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Happy with progress? Can you expand Aadara Hasuna it seems to have attracted a non notable assumption. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:31, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Um, I have no idea exactly why you feel that way, I find your tone a little bitter. If you feel you should mentioned at DYK I will co-list your name, i had no idea you felt left out. Dr. Blofeld White cat 14:56, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

I've added your name. PLease don't call me incivil again. If you really want to know the new system of listing DYk's has changed recently so I have never co-listed double names using the new syntax before. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:05, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

I preferred the old system actually. People seme to be drawn to using templates on here. Sorry I didn't list your name first time as this article is supposed to be a collaboration I did it in a rush last night. Regards. Dr. Blofeld White cat 15:11, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

Thanks for the kind words and for the medal. I was hoping someone would notice and you did. Thanks again. Tiamuttalk 09:54, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks so much for your friendly and very helpful advice about my submission for a DYN subject on Cooktownia. I was planning to expand the article anyway - so you have hurried me on my way (hopefully in time so that the DYK entry is not disqualified. Sorry to butt in, but I came to request something myself. Surprisingly Dr. Blofeld's request and mine are kind of related. I was thinking of creating a list of speakers of the parliament of Sri Lanka (full list here). This is something we can get to
WP:FL with a bit of work. As shown here, we have a grand total of 2 featured content (1 FA, 1 FL) . No need to say that the project is in desperate need of some more. But before we get to that, we need articles on all the individuals. I'm working on that now. I hope you would help with that, and later with the list too. Maybe Dr. Blofeld would like to join in too, since he already seems to working on the area? Chamal talk

Operation Unceasing Waves III

Hello Chanakal, I came across an edit by

Operation Unceasing Waves III which is the LTTE codename for the Second Battle of Elephant Pass. I looked at Operation Unceasing Waves III and it seemed biased towards the LTTE, plus it has no sources and it is not needed because Second Battle of Elephant Pass article is the proper article. Can you please check this page out. Thanks, Blackknight12 (talk

Hola

Hello Mr.! Thanks for your kind words. Yeah I got bored of creating DYKs I have a lot of work to do at stub level at the moment on municipalities and towns so am unable to soend too much time on one article at present. I'll find 2 articles to create or expand soon enough but it probably won't be about Wales. I'll leave that up to User:Seth Whales. Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:03, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Native names

Normally the use of non-English names is deprecated because articles can become like a polylingual dictionary. However, I think in a case like this, where the article is restricted to a single country, anyway it is a good idea to add the local names for the plants. I wouldn't do so for the animals because I think anyone whose English is good enough to read the article would know what was meant, but plants are less straightforward. I think your approach to doing this works well without introducing too much clutter. If I was reviewing this at GAN or FAC, I would have no qualms about your style for this. It is possible that someone might want to add the Tamil names, but that would still be readable. Keep up the good work Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:27, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hello Chanakal how have you been? Hey could you check out this users edits, he has been adding and removing information which seems to be with a racial intent on the articles related to the northern regions of Sri Lanka such as Northern Province, Sri Lanka ‎, Mannar District and others. I have told him to stop vandalising the page but he continues, and has used unreliable sources like this [1], he also seems to be a member of WikiProject Sri Lanka. I have also told him to explain his edits on the talk page before he edits the article, and it is turning into a edit war. Could you please tell this person to stop his vandalism and follow the proper wikipedia protocaol. Thanks Blackknight12 (talk) 06:41, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Thank you

...very much for your kind words. I have to tell you, my mother spent two years in Sri Lanka working when she was younger, and she speaks very fondly of her time there even now.
