@John B123: Thank you and no worries. I understand this is a voluntary endeavor. I like your Wikipedia tastes. Hookers and motorcycles. I use to live in Amsterdam and one of my favorite books is "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig. There's a book written by a British journalist about his travels to the bordellos of the world during the 70's called "All The Girls". Interesting book because it's a serious examination of the cultural differences through prostitution. Thanks for your prompt attention. Message me anytime. @John B123: I tried to buy the film rights to the book "Zen" from Mr Pirsig who was living on a barge in Paris at the time. I also lived in the Redlight District of Amsterdam or "A'dam" as the locals refer to it and that was interesting. It was a re-gentrified canal neighborhood across from the Oudekirk. Most of the red light districts have been/are in the process of gentrification. In my youth, London Soho had about 30 strip clubs and over 100 walk ups. Today there is one lap dancing club, 4 or 5 walk ups and a few Chinese massage parlours. Brussels Bruxelles-Nord station rld has disappeared except for part of Rue d'Aerschot The EL Raval rld in Barelona was demolished and the Filmoteca de Catalunya, a hotel and flats built there. @John B123: wow. That's surprising. That you have never been to Amsterdam. I was working there in advertising and my girlfriend was a Dutch local whose hair salon was in the Nieuwmarkt area which is close to the Redlight District. She just wanted to find me a nearby apartment. It happened to be there. A fashionable canal street called Oudezijds Vorburgwal. Touristy mix of British pubs and window bordellos that resemble Victoria Secret stores. The prostitutes were organized and very decent. In fact, I would often stop off to chat on my way home from work. Like talking to a regular neighbor. And they were. The Dutch have such an open attitude about sex, there was nothing dirty or weird about living in the Redlight District. It was refreshing. I was just there last October and sadly like everything else pre-Covid, tourism really saturated that canal street. But I do remember the Soho area of London in the late 80's. The clubs and casinos. The users have no history and deactivated their account. How should I proceed? I placed a notice to restore the page to August 29, 2020 when it was previously restored by another senior editor.
