The source you cite is actually not bad, but it ignores the other meaning of "selfing" as self-pollination. "Selfing" as used by sources that claim it as an alternative term for "self-fertilization" is not the primary term, but an alternative. To those sources, the primary term is "self-fertilization". The page should not be called "selfing" unless it defines both meanings of the term. Also, there is another page called

self-fertilization, so you are creating competing content. I believe that the section you have called "Genetic consequences of selfing" would be better discussed on the page inbreeding, because self-fertilization is a special case of inbreeding. Nadiatalent (talk) 19:08, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply

Short descriptions are supposed to be short

You just can't capture all the nuances of an article (or a medical condition) in a short description. They are there for the mobile interface search, where they help people decide which page they wanted to find.
