Great work!

Hello @Putitonamap98: I've noticed your work on Michigan gubernatorial election maps as of late. You've been doing a great job at adding important visual aids to these articles. I also see you've done similar things with other state gubernatorial elections. I wanted to thank you for these great contributions. Keep up the good work! RoundSquare (talk) 04:37, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@RoundSquare: Thanks so much glad to see someone noticing and appreciating my work. It is a lengthy and kind of tough process because I have to put all the numbers into a percentage calculator and I take my time ensure the vote percentages for each county are correct. I was able to find alot of the old election Michigan and Tennessee data from state manuals from the Hathi Trust digital library. I'm still trying to find the Idaho, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas county data for past gubernatorial elections, if you could find the county results for these states I would be more than happy to start working on maps for these election pages. Thanks again! Putitonamap98 (talk)

Election Maps

hey @Putitonamap98, I like the work you've been doing on election maps. If you don't mind me asking, how do you go about creating these county maps, they all seem to origniate from the same place and I'm not quite sure how I can start making the same types of visuals. Please use edit summaries, thanks!

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 10:54, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Senatorial terms in New Jersey legislative districts

In this edit, as in other edits you've made to articles for New Jersey legislative districts, you've extended a third row for a re-elected incumbent state senator. The reason that the terms had crossed two sessions is because the terms of a senator are two years, four years and four years in a ten-year cycle that resets after the decennial census. The row for the 2022-23 session should show always all three legislators -- the senator and the two assembly members -- even if the incumbent state senator had been re-elected. Alansohn (talk) 19:17, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Alansohn:, my apologizes for this, I am still learning how to edit the rows, could you help me with updating the list on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Jersey%27s_39th_legislative_district

RE: [1]

Image recency doesn't matter if the subject's appearance hasn't substantially changed, which in this case it hasn't; we should be striving for the best and most representative image of the subject. That particular photo is their badge photo; almost every single congressperson's badge photo ([2]) is low-resolution and/or has other serious photographic errors (ex. in the one of Ryan, his face is way too bright compared to the background), and they generally have a goofy-ass facial expression (which can be quite funny at times! lol). Edit war

Hello, I keep having to revert the same edit on David Zuckerman (politician), the user https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Lpg369 keeps switching the free image with a copyvio image he uploaded and never provides an edit summary. It is really annoying and I do not want to get into a edit war.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Putitonamap98 (talkcontribs)

I have warned the user about edit warring(and as well as possible paid editing as they claim the image in question is their own work). Edit warring may be reported to
WP:ANEW, though doing so requires warnings and an attempt to engage the other user in discussion on the talk page. 331dot (talk) 10:03, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply

To Putitonamap98. The picture of David Zuckerman belongs to David Zuckerman. His staff took the picture. Someone unrelated to him has often replaced the blue suit picture with the tan picture. I happen to be his brother and the only edit I have ever made on Wikipedia is to update this picture at his request. I am new to this and would love a tutorial on how to accomplish this correctly but understand, he prefers his blue suit picture to the tan picture and he owns the blue suit picture. It was not my intent to start a 'war', just to help my brother out. I understand there is an email feature to communicate directly with you but I couldn't figure out how to use it as I am new to this forum and format. I am truly sorry for the confusion.CZathome (talk) 17:25, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Phil Mendelson

Hi there. You will find that titles used in infoboxes have very recently been changed from "Chairman" to "Chair" which do not reflect the actual title used by the officeholder. It's not a good reason to cite predecessors' infobox, you may also want to look at The Chairman's actual page on the DC Council site. Request reason:

As a request by another admin I am rewriting here: I do apologize for the edit of the one sharing my IP address, I usually am the only one who uses the address to edit here on wikipedia, I always do my best to provide constructive edits and if my edits are reverted I always respect the editors action and never engage in edit wars. My record on here is overall clean and I would never vandalize like my associate has done. I have this one registered account which I will start using only from now on if that is what will help solve the situation. I hope you understand I will do everything I can to ensure this will never happen again. Thank you

Accept reason:

Putitonamap98 (talk) 08:24, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is substantial overlap of edits between this account and your ip which was the determining factor in my decision to block. Barkeep49 (talk) 10:44, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My apologizes is there any way to solve this? I have never been blocked before. I would be fine waiting awhile with a temporary block I just wouldn't want it to be a permanent block because I really enjoy building onto/contributing to wikipedia. Putitonamap98 (talk) 10:57, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not unsympathetic here given that you had been a long time positive contributor with no previous issues. What needs explaining to me - and it can be via email to me or to arbcom - is 1) why you edited both logged in and logged out for such a long time 2) what happened that led to your IP very justifiably being blocked. Barkeep49 (talk) 16:33, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, whatever helps clear it up, what is the email please? Putitonamap98 (talk) 22:54, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This emails me or you can email the Arbitration Committee. Barkeep49 (talk) 23:30, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I quite sympathetic about your concerns about your wiki reputation. What your email does not address is why there are so many overlaps of edits to you both from this account and your IP. That is its own problem under policy. Barkeep49 (talk) 15:08, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My reason for this was for security since I was sharing a device I usually would just forget to log back in but if staying logged in is required I can start doing that. Putitonamap98 (talk) 20:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your patience as I consulted with the checkuser who had been considering your appeal at your IP address. You've gotten a bit lucky with the draw that I am the one responding here as I am on the "soft" side of things as many other admins/checkusers wouldn't be so willing to consider an appeal given the facts we have. Your answers aren't as forthcoming as I had hoped for but they are sufficient. That said if you're willing to abide by a formal one-account restriction, with account including logged out IP editing, and you acknowledge that further vandalism/BLP violations by someone else on your IP in the future could impact this account, I will accept and unblock this account. Barkeep49 (talk) 15:09, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I will ensure their will be no more vandalism coming from this IP and start giving out more edit summaries in the future if logged out so there can be more transparency. Thank you very much, admin I appreciate your kindness and fairness when it came to handling this situation. Putitonamap98 (talk) 22:08, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My sincere apologies. I thought I had actioned this back when your previous reply came in. I have done so now. Barkeep49 (talk) 15:26, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Higher Resolution Revert

Hi Putitonamap, I noticed you reverted a higher resolution version of File:Mary Ann Baldwin.jpg. I was wonder why that revert was done, can we use the higher resolution version? --Pithon314 (talk) 08:13, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I used an upscale AI but I don't recommended using because the AI does not always get some details right and make things look off like Baldwin's hair for instance. Putitonamap98 (talk) 21:50, 1 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Alabama Democratic Primary Map

Heyo, I am just letting you know I located two errors in the Democratic Primary for Governor map. Lowndes and Montgomery Counties are incorrect; Lowndes went for Sanders-Fortier in the 40-50 range, as did Montgomery in the 30-40 range.

why should the county maps go first?

Connecticut doesn't have a lot of counties so just looking at a county map doesn't give you a whole lot of information. Municipalities are the main administrative unit there anyway and they provide much more detail. Kingofthedead (talk) 21:16, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A new edit to the 2024 United States Senate election in Michigan adds a Democratic candidate and the only supporting citation is that candidate's web site. Without a journalistic or government citation to back up the edit, it was deleted. But that was reverted without adding another supporting citation. Please take a look at the article.
