Gottipati Ravi Kumar

Hello Significa liberdade, I hope you're doing well. I was adding references and fixing grammar issues in Gottipati Ravi Kumar. After saving my edits, I checked the edit history and noticed that I was listed as the creator of the article. Upon further investigation, I found that it had been moved to the draft space in the meantime, and yes, it was moved by you. There's nothing to worry about; I am requesting a history merge, but I thought I should share this with you. Happy editing! – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:05, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SD contested

Hello Significa liberdade. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Shariq Hassan, a page you tagged for speedy deletion. It doesn't meet any of the criteria the template indicates. I also took the liberty to remove the tag. Feel free to verify. Thank you. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 14:26, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Mushy Yank! I've responded on the article TP, but I admit I made a few errors. I wasn't feeling well yesterday, so I must have missed a few checks that I normally do. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 15:37, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Significa liberdade,

In the future, if you find copyright violations in a draft or article, please post a notice on the editor's User talk page informing them of Wikipedia's copyright guidelines. This ensures that they are aware of the problem and hopefully won't repeat the action. If you down want to use one of Twinkle's templates, then please leave a personal note explaining the issue. Thank you very much. Liz Read! Talk! 21:02, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Will do! I try to post notices, but it's a bit haphazard. I'll keep this on my radar moving forward. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 21:29, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for review

Hello, colleague. May I ask you to review this article - Forced assimilation in Azerbaijan? With respect, Smpad (talk) 21:51, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Smpad: Thank you for reaching out! However, I do not review articles upon request. Further, because I am not familiar with the topic, I would not be able to provide an adequate review. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 18:36, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation of CC BY content?

Hi Significa liberdade, thanks so much for your recent review work on the Open Book Collective wikipedia entry. I noticed you flagged some portions of the content as copyright violations (see the entry's Contribution History), and was hoping to ask if you could clarify on why you had chosen to do so?

The marked content had been available / shared openly under permissive CC licenses (see marked sources https://journals.publishing.umich.edu/jep/article/id/3372/ & https://zenodo.org/records/7961527 - both of which are licenced under CC BY 4.0, thus requiring attribution of the authors as a condition of re-use, which I believe I had provided?) so I was wondering if instead of deleting all that text, a simple addition of the Creative Commons text attribution notice mark would have sufficed here? (and my apologies for having failed to do so previously!)

Thanks so much in advance for considering my input here, and with best wishes, Flavoursofopen (talk) 11:54, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing this out, Flavoursofopen! I must not have seen the CC licenses on these articles.
It looks like Nthep completed the copyvio-revdel, so I'm looping them in here. I'm also opening an appeal at ANI. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:21, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think I fixed the unreliable sources on the Vratnica Attack.

Hello, Significa liberdade I think I fixed the unreliable sources on the Vratnica Attack wikipedia page and added more reliable sources, if possible could you remove the, unreliable template you placed on it. Jolly73881 (talk) 15:54, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Significa liberdade,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.

draft / wiki help pages

I do hope for patience here. First, earlier today I replied regarding your moving an article to draft status. I don't see that message here, so can you confirm that you got it (re Felix Albrecht Harta)? Second, and more apologies, I didn't quite grasp everything that went before this morning. But... You removed the template for a stub on Austrian painters and you removed the template referencing the corresponding German wikipedia page. I restored them and didn't mean for it to look like pure defiance. But please explain: I'm following published wiki help but seeing these changes. Is referencing the topic in another language now verboten? Why was that unacceptable? Is designating the article as a stub reserved for more senior editors? Was my doing so unacceptable? Please let me know and I'd beg you to fix the relevant help pages. This feels like unnecessary wheel-spinning. Valuenyc (talk) 17:53, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Valuenyc! Thank you for reaching out! I did not see your previous message. It looks like you responded to the message I left on your talk page. On Wikipedia, users are not automatically informed when someone replies to a message they left unless that user has subscribed the message, which I had not done. If you want to ensure that an editor is notified that you're responding to them, you'll want to ping them, which can be done by typing the @ symbol, which should bring up a list of users involved in the "conversation". It looks like w.carter provided information about this on your talk page in 2015, so you can also check out that message for more information.
Now to address your concerns. :) First, I removed the stub template not because you're not allowed to place them but rather because the article isn't a
Wikipedia's how-to guide on translating articles from other languages). When I removed the sentence, I included it in my edit summary, which provided the attribution necessary. Does that make sense? You've done nothing wrong, and I really appreciate the work you're doing! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 19:10, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply
]
Okay, thanks for the reminder about the ping. I haven't really done much in all these years, so I had long forgotten.
I guess I also never really understood much about stubs, so thanks for that. I have deleted the template from my revision. (How nice!)
I'm not getting the business about the German wikipedia page. But I cannot find the page where I THOUGHT I read that this should be included in the article text. So I guess I have to rely on your greater experience. Deleted but incorporated into the edit summary.
So those are my minor questions. I have added some references to address the major issue. Do I really have to wait up to 2 months to get this published?
But whatever the answer to the last question, I do appreciate your help and explanations. Valuenyc (talk) 20:03, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, Valuenyc! The expected wait time to have a draft reviewed varies depending on the available reviewers. For instance, some people may feel uncomfortable reviewing articles outside of their expertise. Most articles do not take two months to be reviewed though. :) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 20:13, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
