  • Weak oppose white-on-black styling and too-thin text makes it unnecessarily hard to read. (t · c) buidhe 02:50, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • What part can't you read? At full-size, the smallest text is over 16pt. -- Veggies (talk) 04:13, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
      • Sure, it's fine at full size (although black-on-white is more readable regardless) but for optimal encyclopedic value it would also be easily understandable at somewhat smaller sizes in order to fit well in an encyclopedia article. (t · c) buidhe 04:55, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
        • No, no, no. The FPC instructions for evaluating above state: Prior to giving an opinion, the image should be assessed on its quality as displayed at full size (high-resolution). There's plenty of featured pictures that have text that is not legible at thumbnail size. And there's no requirement that it should be. Judge the image at full size. That's why we have resolution requirements. -- Veggies (talk) 05:39, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • A white background doesn't work for the depiction (visualization) of probability densities. Because maximum probability would have to be dark and minimum probability white. It makes no sense visually-logically, also dark gradients don't render vividly as do bright gradients. The equation (which you critique for text size) is there for reference only. It's as relevant as a signature on a painting. Anyone interested in the equation will get it from the relevant article(s) text, not from the image. What's relevant is the title "Hydrogen Wave Function" which is legible even at thumbnail size. Bammesk (talk) 16:32, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comparison of largest trans-Neptunian objects

Voting period is over. Please don't add any new votes. Voting period ends on 19 Mar 2021 at 21:29:53 (UTC)

High quality, effectively illustrates the comparative sizes and shapes of the objects, and has significant EV for topics related to the outer Solar System. This image has been previously nominated for FP in 2007 but has since been updated over the years following the overhaul of knowledge about the dwarf planets and trans-Neptunian objects since the New Horizons flyby of Pluto in 2015.

  • No position as original creator of the file except to note that the inclusion (since 2016) of the Moon in the corner of this image sticks out like a sore thumb and is entirely superfluous since the Earth is already included as a reference (and as such I believe it should be removed). Lexicon (talk) 22:05, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – significant EV, lead image in its primary article, and used well in nine Featured articles. I don't mind having the moon, it doesn't hurt anything and can be useful for comparisons. Bammesk (talk) 20:19, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Not sure how this problem would be sensibly solved, but only having the very tip of Earth showing makes it hard to judge the size of the trans-Neptunian objects. Nick-D (talk) 09:53, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

USNS Grasp supply ship off the coast of Saint Kitts
island, Caribbean.
Reason
Well done photo of surface supplied underwater diving, In a single frame it shows diver(s), riding stage, supply lines, ship and crew. Lead image in several articles including a featured article. The pixel count isn't high, but I think the encyclopedic value makes up for it. The cloud highlights are blown, but that's immaterial and almost impossible to control in a fast moving action shot (can't really do multiple exposure HDR, and a single exposure HDR would introduce underwater noise).

  • This nom is for the EV and what it depicts, per reason above. Bammesk (talk) 02:21, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
About the top left corner, I don't think it's a person, zooming on it there are too many sharp lines and angles. Bammesk (talk) 03:23, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • EV may have priority over artistic qualities, but it doesn't nullify them entirely. And I'm not altogether convinced this has any unique EV qualities that other, higher-quality images don't make up for. -- Veggies (talk) 19:02, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
