Weak keep, it is a plausible, even if not especially likely, search term for someone who doesn't know the name of the song, which is a reason we have {{R from lyric}}s in the first place. No significant downside to keeping this around; net positive. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 01:31, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This used to be mentioned, but editing over the last few months has removed a great deal of material related to India from the history section. It think it is likely that at some point some of that material will be restored. --JBL (talk) 23:42, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • This was a separate page, created by Deborahw20 (a student editor who also created Akiki Nyabongo), until MPGuy2824 merged it into the article with the summary "copied contents to that section". It looks like most if not all of the entries are redundant with the references used in the article, and I suspect it was originally created to aid in writing the article or perhaps to satisfy a course requirement. Given it's redundant copying it into the article was probably unnecessary; would likely have been better to just move it to user space. That said, it's probably safe to delete the redirect (per Pppery). – Scyrme (talk) 01:27, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

But now that you have brought it up, per Turkish people#Religion Most ethnic Turkish people are either practicing or non-practicing Muslims, per Turkish people#Definition Turkish Jews, Christians, and Alevis are not considered Turks by some., and Since the 1960s, "Turkish" was even seen as synonymous with "Muslim" in countries like Germany..., the quotes notwithstanding. I don't know why Germany is brought into context in the article, but Luxembourg borders it, and all this is good enough in a redirect discussion for me. Jay 💬 21:46, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing on the digression... thanks for that article! Isn't no true Scotsmanism already a result of prejudice? I had no knowledge on the Turkey-Muslim synonymity, but the question made me look it up. I still have no opinion, but what I have are selectively quoted lines from the current target! Jay 💬 14:49, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In English (and probably other European languages), "Turk" has commonly been used as a synonym for "Muslim" since the Elizabethan era. The usage is metonymic: back then, the Ottoman empire (whose dominant ethnicity was Turkish) controlled almost the entire Muslim world as Europeans knew it. The usage outlived that reality, in part because Turkey did continue to be the only Muslim country of great relevance to European affairs for several centuries. Monochromium is a song, not a synonym for monochrome. I have no opinion on its notability, but the current redirect is wrong. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 13:17, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't think the song has a mention on Wikipedia; I wasn't able to find one. Searching on Google, it seems the band is called "Glass Remnant" but I don't think they have an article either. Neither the song nor monochrome seem to be the primary topic for this term in English. Virtually all results on Google Scholar and Google Books are for Chromium compounds. – Scyrme (talk) 13:53, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Up until 29 January 2023, List of football clubs in Wales actually was the big list we now have at List of men's football clubs in Wales, with, unfortunately, no women's clubs. Not mentioned in redirect target since 2019, so these redirects should be deleted. I made the former page from an article into a redirect in 2007 after a no-consensus AFD. At its talk page, the article creator said in 2007 that he was OK with the article's deletion. I was reminded of this situation by this village pump policy thread. Graham87 08:39, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete both, as our redirects shouldn't lead the reader to an empty marsh where there's nothing to see. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 13:31, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • If the subject is notable, then the pre-BLAR content may be restored and enhanced. There was no consensus for deletion even in 2007. The subject will be in his 30s now and the arguments about privacy may have changed. Jondel was not really the article creator, but one among multiple authors of the article. If the subject is not notable, delete. I don't believe content at the page history was merged to any article, so there won't be a need to retain it. Jay 💬 14:37, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Jay: Jondel was *indeed* the article creator in this case; the edit that's listed as being from January 2003 has an incorrect date/timestamp due to a clock reset (see T4219 and musings on this bug in my userspace). Graham87 07:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting bug! In any case, being the creator and substantial contributor has benefits when it comes to speedy deletion. Here, there were other authors, hence the opinion as article creator is only symbolic. And it was a long time ago. Jay 💬 08:05, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Struck off the delete. One of the links by casualdejekyll is from 2016, so I'll assume there is still interest about the subject, and he can be added back to the target. Jay 💬 13:53, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
