 The Nebra sky disc (German: Himmelsscheibe von Nebra) is a bronze disc, about 30 centimetres in diameter, with a blue-green patina and inlaid with gold symbols which appear to represent the sun or moon, a lunar crescent and stars. It dates to the Bronze Age and is therefore the oldest definite depiction of the cosmos in the world. In 2013 it was acclaimed by UNESCO as "one of the most important archaeological finds of the twentieth century. It was found in summer 1999 by grave robbers in a stone chamber on the Mittelberg near the little town of Nebra in Saxony-Anhalt. Geography
