So, I've submitted a draft of a dab page for 煎餅 which was rejected because it's not in English. Do you think it meets CJKV disambiguation needs? -- 70.51.46.39 (talk) 18:07, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
Seeking an explanation for how WP entries like 天 are appropriate for an encyclopedia
I am honestly confused what the use case is for CJKV disambig and redirection pages here at the English Wikipedia. As the English Wikipedia, we can only safely assume that our users have some facility with the English language, which does not use Chinese characters at all.
Searching for terms in non-Latin scripts sounds much more appropriate for Wiktionary, which aims to be all words in all languages. Adding a similar facility to Wikipedia strikes me very much as straying into
So long as a given non-Latin script form is included somewhere in the body of an article, the basic search functionality should find that page if a user searches for the non-Latin string. That seems to obviate any need for CJKV (or cuneiform or hangul or Armenian or Devanagari etc.) disambig pages.
Could someone kindly explain the use case for these CJKV entries? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 20:31, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
