William Sheridan (c. 1635 – 3 October 1711) was a 17th-century Irish clergyman, who was Bishop of Kilmore and Ardagh between 1682 and 1691,[1] having previously served as Dean of Down from 1669 to 1682.[2][3]
Sheridan was born at
James Butler, 1st Duke of Ormonde.[4]
Sheridan married Mary O'Reilly,Mary following the 1688 coup d'etat.[6] He left Ireland and spent the rest of his life, living in reduced circumstances, in London. He is buried at Fulham.
An engraving of Sheridan by William Sherwin is held by the National Library of Ireland.[7]
