This is a list of notable events in the history of LGBTQ rights taking place in the year 2025.

- 27 – The Idaho House of Representatives votes for a resolution that calls for the US Supreme Court to reconsider its 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges same sex marriage decision.[7][8][9]
- 28 – President of the United States Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation". According to the New York Times, the executive order takes steps "to end gender-affirming medical treatments for children and teenagers under 19, directing agencies to take a variety of steps to curtail surgeries, hormone therapy and other regimens."[10]
- 29 – President of the United States Donald Trump signs an executive order entitled "Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling". The order directs the federal government to rescind federal funding from schools that "directly or indirectly support or subsidize the social transition of a minor student," including allowing students to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity or permitting teachers to use names or pronouns different from those assigned at birth.[11][12]
February

- 5 – Argentinian presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni announces that the President Javier Milei has signed a decree modifying the 2012 Gender Identity Law, that allows transgender people to be treated according to their gender identity and have their documents be registered with the corresponding name and gender, to exclude people under the age of 18 to access gender-affirming care.[14]

- 18 – The Hungarian parliament votes 136–27 to ban LGBTQ events in the country, including the annual Budapest Pride event. [15]

April
- 14 – Hungarian Parliament passes constitutional amendments outlawing public events by the LGBTQ+ community.[19] and mandate the existence of only two genders (male or female).[20][21][20]
- 16 - The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom rules that legal gender is based upon sex assigned at birth and that transgender women are excluded from the legal definition of woman for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010.[22][23]
