The Ackerman House is a historic stone house located at 136 Chestnut Ridge Road in the borough of
In 1797, Catherina Ackerman bought 77 acres (31 ha) here in order to build a house for her son Abraham P. Ackerman. The one and one-half story house was built by 1802. The kitchen wing was added later. His son, William Ackerman was living here in 1861 and added the frame wing behind the kitchen. His son, Abraham W. Ackerman built the mansard roof around 1875–1876.[3]
