Alan Gillett (surveyor)
Alan Henry Puckridge Gillett,
Early life and education
He was born in Ealing and started his education there at Harvington School, followed by Harrow View Preparatory School. In September 1940, he evacuated with his school to a home near Banbury, Oxfordshire, which now belongs to Michael Heseltine.[2]
He subsequently attended
He did national service in Egypt and was called up from the reserves in 1956 to serve again in Egypt during the Suez Crisis. He had recently married his wife Patricia at that time and their first son, Andrew, had been born earlier that year. They subsequently had two more sons and two daughters.[4][5]
