Archie MacInnes Palmer (1896-1985) was an American educator and academic administrator who served as 8th president of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 1938 to 1942.[2][3]
Biography
Palmer was born May 9, 1896, in
University of the South in 1941.[5]
He began his career as the Secretary of the Liberal Arts College at
National Research Council
from 1946.
He was elected to honorary societies of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Delta Kappa, Delta Sigma Rho, and Pi Gamma Mu. He was a member of the American Historical Association, the American Committee of International Student Service, and the Executive Committee of the American Hungarian Foundation.
