The Army of Georgia was a
Carolinas Campaign. Although the Army of Georgia name was soon applied to this force,[1] it was not officially recognized until March 28, 1865.[2]
History
During Sherman's
Oliver O. Howard, served as the other wing.[3] The Army of Georgia was involved in little fighting during the March to the Sea but was engaged in the Battle of Averasborough and bore the brunt of fighting at the Battle of Bentonville
.
