2010 United States Census reported that Auxier's population was 669, of which 661 persons were white and 2 persons were black.[4]

History

Auxier had its start around 1900 as a coal town.[5] The community was named for the local Auxier family.[5]

Geography

Auxier is located along the northern edge of Floyd County, bordered to the south, east, and northeast by the

U.S. Census Bureau, the Auxier CDP has a total area of 0.97 square miles (2.5 km2), of which 0.93 square miles (2.4 km2) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2), or 3.85%, is water.[6]
