Avelino Asprilla
Avelino Asprilla Padilla (born January 1, 1981, in Panama City, Panama) is a former minor league baseball player who played for Panama in multiple international baseball events, including the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
Minor league baseball career
Asprilla played professionally in the minor leagues from 1999 to 2006 in the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies organizations. He began his professional career in 1999 for the VSL Pirates, hitting .337 with 30 stolen bases. That year, he led the league in triples, with five.
