Brownsberg is a 515 metres[1] high mountain in the Brokopondo District of Suriname. It is the namesake of the Brownsberg Nature Park. The mountain has been named after John Brown, a 19th-century gold miner.[2]
Overview
Brownsberg is almost flat on top,blue-cheeked parrot (amazona dufresniana), and the olive-sided flycatcher (contopus cooperi).[7]
Brownsberg can be reached from the town of Brownsweg.[3] Stoneiland, a tourist resort and beach, is located at the foot of the mountain.[8]
