Carlisle is a town in
History
The community was named after Coleman Carlisle, a Methodist minister.[5]
Hillside and Woodland Plantation are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[6]
Geography
Carlisle is located at 34°35′30″N 81°27′52″W / 34.59167°N 81.46444°W (34.591674, -81.464518).[7]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km2), all of it land.

The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.33.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 25.6% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 85.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 76.6 males.
