Chili cheese fries, also called Coney Island fries, is a dish made of French fries topped with cheese and chili con carne.

History

The inventor and place of origin of chili cheese fries is unknown. Frozen chili cheese fries had begun to be sold commercially in the United States by 1975.[1]

Description

The dish is prepared by topping French fries with chili con carne and grated cheese, typically cheddar or American.[2][3]
