Chiyako Satō (佐藤千夜子 Satō Chiyako) was a Japanese singer.

Biography

The Japanese singer Chiyako Satō (real name Chiyo Satō 佐藤千代 Satō Chiyo[1]) was born in Tendō, Yamagata[1] in 1897.[1]

After graduating the

Japan Victor Company,[1] and followed this up with "Tōkyō Kōshinkyoku" (東京行進曲; 1929; lyrics by Yaso Saijō [ja], music by Nakayama).[1]

In 1930, she went to study in Italy,[1] but upon returning to Japan in 1935 she was unable to reclaim her position in the Japanese show business world.[1] She died in obscurity in 1968.[1]
