History

Clarksdale was platted in 1885 when the railroad was extended to that point.^[5] The community was named after John F. Clark, the original owner of the town site.^[5] A post office has been in operation at Clarksdale since 1886.^[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.32 square miles (0.83 km²), all land.^[7]
