Rural Free Delivery was extended to the area.[2] There is also a Cottrell Road and a Cottrell school a mile east of the locale, and there was a Cottrell station on the defunct Mount Hood Electric Railway line about a mile to the north.[2] The now-abandoned station was across the county line in Multnomah County.[2]
Georgia and her mother Carrie both died in Ashland, in 1953 and 1943 respectively.
