Geography

Deferiet is located in eastern Jefferson County at 44°2′3″N 75°40′58″W / 44.03417°N 75.68278°W / 44.03417; -75.68278 (44.034248, -75.682892).^[3] Its western border follows the Black River, separating the village from the town of Champion.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Deferiet has a total area of 0.73 square miles (1.9 km²), of which 0.66 square miles (1.7 km²) are land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²), or 11.21%, are water.^[2]
