Denim, formerly known as Denim Pussy, is the stage name of Emerson Sanderson,season 4 of Canada's Drag Race.
Career
Sanderson is a
season 4 of Canada's Drag Race.[4] Denim placed in the bottom two of the Rusical challenge and defeated Kiki Coe
in a lip-sync. Denim was equal third in the competition overall.
Personal life
Sanderson is originally from Prince Edward Island and lives in Montreal.[3] She is neurodivergent and has been diagnosed with autism.[4] She is the second trans man to compete within the Drag Race franchise, following Gottmik.[5] Denim uses the pronouns she/her in drag and he/him out of drag.[4] On the show, Denim and fellow contestant The Girlfriend Experience said using the terms "AFAB" and "AMAB" (assigned female at birth and assigned male at birth, respectively) can be transphobic when used to categorize drag entertainers.[5]
