Dr. Ajit Raizada is an Indian author[1][2], poet[3] and administrator. He is from the 1970 batch[4] [5] of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the Madhya Pradesh cadre [6] [7]. Dr. Raizada retired from the IAS in 2007. In October 2010, he was appointed as the 4th State Election Commissioner[8][9][10], a constitutional appointment[11] [12][13], of the Madhya Pradesh State Election Commission.

Family

He is married[14] to Dr. Seema Raizada, a Professor of English and a Shakespeare scholar.[15][16][17]

Career

Dr. Raizada's roles in general administration include Collector and District Magistrate of Rajgarh[18] and Ujjain[19] Districts as well as Additional Chief Secretary, Home department.

As Principal Secretary Culture, he was closely involved in the rejuvenation of Bharat Bhavan[20], a leading national multi-arts complex and as Principal Secretary Manpower Planning, he served as member of the first Board of Governors[21] of Indian Institute of Management (IIM),

Ajit Raizada is an author/editor of several published works across the fields of History, Numismatic and Political Science[23]. His books are referenced at leading Universities and institutions including the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration[24], National Library of Australia[25], Tokyo University of Foreign Studies[26]and the United States Library of Congress[27]. In 1992, he authored a collection of poems titled, Hashiye Par Aadmi.[3] In 2022, his latest collection of poems, Sooraj ke Aansu[28] was published by Manjul Publishing House Pvt. Ltd..
