Artur Fernandes

Artur Fernandes (born November 1970, Viana do Castelo, Portugal) is a Portuguese former footballer and sports agent.

Education

He studied at the Faculty of Sports, the Faculty of Arts (Geography) and the Faculty of Sociology, at the University of Porto.

Sports career

As a player, he began his career at his home club and, while still serving Sport Clube Vianense, he was already captain of the Portuguese Football Team. In 1987, he transferred to Futebol Clube do Porto, a team from the city of Porto. During his career he represented several prestigious clubs in Portugal such as F.C. Paços de Ferreira, F.C. Penafiel, Desportivo das Aves and Naval 1º Maio.[1][2]

During this journey he also wrote columns for a daily sports newspaper and was a leader of the Players' Union.[3]

Career as a Sports Agent

Retired from his football career in 2001, he began working as a sports consultant for some clubs.[4]

In 2004, he was considered the third agent in Portugal in a ranking promoted by a daily sports newspaper, with 22 operations in that summer market. More than 200 players transferred in 18 countries, in just over 10 years.[5][6]

He made his relationship with the World Champions Club official at the end of 2005.

In line with some of the most valuable and respected player agents in Portugal, they decided to create the National Association of Football Agents in 2006, a residence in which it remains today.

In 2007, he was invited to be one of the Advisors of the National Sports Council, of the Government of Portugal, which he accepted with great pride, thus becoming involved in some of the most important sports projects in Portugal, highlighting the New Legal Regime for Sports Federations.

Mentor of the dossier “Casa das Transferências” with application to Portuguese Football, which was presented to the National Sports Council in 2011.[7]

In 2012, he took office as “Ambassador for Ethics in Sport”.

In October 2014, he moved to London and founded Soccer Club, his company, with the aim of representing and managing the careers of professional football players.[8]

On February 1, 2017, he became International Director of Stellar Group (www.stellargroup.co.uk) also accumulating full responsibility for managing the Portuguese football market.[9][10]

He is also a member of the European Association of Players Agents.[11][12][13][14]

Artur Fernandes is also a great promoter of Social Solidarity around the world, especially in Europe.[15][16]
