Homeless Lottery Winner Scandle
On 13 Febuary 2014, Russell Uploaded a video titled "MagicianChristopher helps a homeless guy win BIG". Russell Re-Uploaded the video on 2 March 2014, with the new title "Homeless Lottery Winner". In the video Russell approaches a homeless man, He asks "if you had one wish what would it be" The homeless man said "Win the lottery", Russell then gave the homeless man some money to buy 3 Lottery tickets from a store, The homeless man then won £100,000.
Russell's video inspired Rahat Hossain to do his own version and on 4 March 2014 a video was uploaded with the title "Homeless Lottery Winner" Hossain would give a homeless man named Erik Aursby a losing lottery ticket that the store clerk of a nearby convenience store (who was in on the prank) giving Aursby the impression that he had won the lottery. Hossain continued to use Aursby in his videos, And set up a fundraiser for him, The fundraiser collected roughly $66,000, Hossain used some of the money to pay rent for 1 year, Aursby later said that he did not have access to the money and the house needed constant maintenance. He also alleged that he had not received any of the money raised from the fundraiser, he only stayed in the house for for two months rather than a year and the house was then sold for $61,000. Hossain stopped uploading videos in 2018 after Ausbys claim not to have recieved the money, untill 2020 when Hossain provided proof and said he is diagnosed with depression.
Stunts
Russell would upload videos of him Swallowing Razor Blades followed by cotton and then produce the razor blades tied to the cotton. A video which was later removed from YouTube but gained over 50,000 views. He would then go on to swallow Model Balloons in his shows around London.
Early life
Chris Russell started a YouTube channel as a teenager. He uploaded mostly Magic Tricks. He became a member of the Magic Circle in London. He was a street performer in London and would Busk in Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, South Bank.
