Wang Jing Jie (born July 29, 2003), better known as Jinggg, is a Singaporean professional Valorant player currently signed to Paper Rex. Before joining Paper Rex, he played for another Southeast Asian organization called Team SMG.[3] In September 2021, he was signed by Paper Rex[4]. On August 22, 2023, it was announced that Valorant Champions 2023 would be his last tournament before leaving to serve national service in Singapore[5]. Currently, he is a subsitute player for Paper Rex whilst waiting to complete his national service[6][7].

Career

Jinggg's professional career began in November 2020 when he joined Reality Rift. He competed for Team SMG before being picked up by Paper Rex in September 2021 and has played for the team on its main roster until August 27, 2023 when it was announced that Jinggg would be moved to the subsitute role for the forseeable future after the completion of Valorant Champions 2023. On October 6th, 2023, Paper Rex would announce officially that he has been moved to the subsitute role[8].

2020

Jinggg and his team Realify Rift won 1st - 4th place in the First Strike Malaysia and Singapore: Qualifier #1 tournament and 3rd place in First Strike Malaysia and Singapore.

2021

In July 2021, he was signed by Team SMG and competed in the VCT Malaysia & Singapore Stage 3 Week 1 Qualifier.[9] Afterwards, he would leave Team SMG and join Paper Rex in September 2021 to replace Zhan Teng "shiba" Toh on the main roster[4].

2022

Jinggg and his team Paper Rex would win 1st place in both VCT 2022: Malaysia & Singapore Stage 1 Challengers and VCT 2022: APAC Stage 1 Challengers in order to qualify for VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters - Reykjavík and go on to placed 4th. He would then go on to win 1st place again in both VCT 2022: Malaysia & Singapore Stage 2 Challengers and VCT 2022: APAC Stage 2 Challengers. Afterwards, Paper Rex placed 2nd in VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen. During the VALORANT Champions 2022, he and Paper Rex would placed 9th - 12th. Afterwards, Paper Rex won 1st place in Valorant India Invitational[10]

2023

Jinggg would start off the year by playing in VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo and placing 17th - 32nd after losing to Cloud9.[11] Afterwards, he and Paper Rex won 1st place in the inaugural VCT 2023: Pacific League with a 7-2 win-lose in the Regular Season, losing only to Team Secret[12] and DRX and a 3-0 win-lose in the Playoffs.[13] On June 24, 2023, Paper Rex would go on to place 3rd in VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo. On August 22, 2023, Paper Rex's head coach Alexandre ‘alecks’ Sallé would announce that Jinggg's last tournament on the active roster would be at VALORANT Champions 2023[14]. Paper Rex would qualify to the Grand Finals of Champions 2023 thanks to Jinggg playing Pheonix.[15] On October 26th, 2023, he would place 2nd after losing 1-3 to Evil Geniuses in the Grand Finals of the VALORANT Champions 2023[16]. On October 6th, he was officially moved to the subsitute role with Paper Rex signing Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha to replace Jinggg[17]. However, he would make once last tournament appearance at the AfreecaTV Valorant League and placed 2nd after losing 0-3 to Sentinels in the Grand Finals.[18]

2024

During the entire duration of VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff, Jinggg sat on the subsitute bench and did not play a single match.

Recognitions

On September 3, 2023, Valorant Philippines released a mini-documentary on Jinggg, titled "Road to Champions - Jinggg".[19]

On September 29, 2023, a Valorant game developer teased that their latest agent (Agent 24) would be inspired by Jinggg.[20][21]
