Slide Insurance is an American full-stack insurtech focused on homeowners insurance based in Tampa, Florida.[1][2]
Overview
Slide Insurance was founded in 2021 by Bruce Lucas and Shannon Lucas.[2] It provides homeowners insurance across Florida and coastal South Carolina.[1] In the founding year, the company raised $100 million in Series A funding.[3][4]
Slide acquired UPC’s intellectual property and a dataset of over $1 trillion Total Insured Value (TIV).[5] In addition, it acquired the renewal rights to over 91,000 Florida homeowner’s policies from UPC Insurance, representing $272 million in annual premiums.[6]. The previous year, Slide Insurance acquired $400 million worth of premiums from Orlando-based St. Johns Insurance.[7][8] In October of 2023, Slide Insurance acquired the renewal rights for 86,000 home insurance policies in Florida from Farmers Insurance.[9][10]
