St Agnes' is the church of the parish of Crumlin that is located south of the River Liffey in Crumlin in Dublin, Ireland. The parish is in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dublin.

History

The church was first built after the

Penal Times, in 1726, as a Chapel of Ease to Rathfarnham

.

Originally part of Rathfarnharm Parish, and then Terenure, the church was constituted in 1941.^[1]

In order to keep up with population and housing growth of Crumlin, the church has undergone renewal and extensions. The main nave of the present church was built 1933-35. The transcepts and apse were added in 1942. The sanctuary was rearranged in 1975.^[2]

In a 16 week period from June 2013, refurbishment and renewal works were completed.^[3]

Architecture

The present church is designed in the Hiberno Romanesque style.
