Tomás Maria Picoito Pimentel de Vasconcelos Guimarães (born July 6, 2001) known as Tom Kløver, is a prominent Portuguese musician, guitarist, and music producer from Lisbon, known for his diverse and innovative approach to music. Tom is also the lead guitar player for the Portuguese rock band “We Know a Place”.
Biography
Early Life
His journey into the world of music began at the age of 9, following his return from living in Spain. Encouraged by his grandfather, Tom embarked on acoustic guitar lessons as a means to boost his confidence and nurture his burgeoning interest in music.´
Electric Guitar and Music Production
A turning point in Tom's musical journey occurred at the age of 11 when he attended a Joe Satriani concert with his uncle. The experience left an indelible mark, igniting a newfound passion for the electric guitar. This moment served as a catalyst, propelling Tom towards his aspiration of making the electric guitar a central part of his musical career.
At 16 years old, Tom's trajectory took a crucial turn when he encountered a significant mentor, whose identity he chose to keep confidential. This mentor played a pivotal role in introducing Tom to the realm of music production and familiarizing him with tools like Ableton Live. Under this mentorship, Tom honed his production skills while still completing his high school education in Product Design.
During his high school years, Tom Kløver developed essential music production skills and started recording and producing beats for local Portuguese rappers. This period marked the foundation of his production style, laying the groundwork for his future endeavours. “I started to have rappers coming around to the studio, but it was my bedroom at my mom’s place so I felt like it wasn’t very professional you know? So for a while, I didn’t have a bedroom and I was just sleeping on the couch so I could have the room dedicated only to the studio”
Jazz Guitar Studies
At the age of 19, Tom decided to further his musical education by studying jazz guitar. He dedicated two years to this pursuit, spending one year in Lisbon and another in the northern city of Porto. This educational experience broadened his musical horizons and deepened his understanding of jazz, enriching his overall musical palette.
Debut EP "Suite Crafts"
In 2022, Tom Kløver released his debut EP, "Suite Crafts," a collection of seven songs that transcend specific genres. Tomás Maria Picoito Pimentel de Vasconcelos Guimarães AKA: Tom Kløver (born July 06, 2001), is a young guitarist, producer and composer from Portugal. He began producing instrumentals for upcoming artists in 2017 and released his debut pop fusion studio album in 2022, featuring others artists and musicians from Portugal. Since 2023 he is the lead guitarist in the pop rock band We Know a Place and a session guitarist for other various projects.
