The World Mythologies series was a book series published by Schocken Books.[1] The series consists of 13 books, each dedicated to a mythology of the world. Several titles have been recommended on reading lists for children and teens, homeschooling parents, and English-language learners,[2] citing "very accessible retellings"[3] and "beautiful illustrations".[4] The volumes usually included maps, an appendix of source material, explanations of symbols included in black-and-white chapter title page illustrations, "lavish" full-color illustrations, and cast a wide net both geographically and thematically, such as including tales of emperors and pharoahs among the myths of Rome and Egypt.[5]
