Eagle Nest is located in western Colfax County at 36°33′8″N 105°15′41″W / 36.55222°N 105.26139°W (36.552109, -105.261336),
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.1 square miles (13.1 km2), of which 4.2 square miles (10.9 km2) is land and 0.85 square miles (2.2 km2), or 16.76%, is water.[3]

There were 141 households, out of which 27.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.4% were married couples living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.5% were non-families. 31.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.65.
In the village, the population was spread out, with 22.5% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 23.2% from 25 to 44, 41.2% from 45 to 64, and 6.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females, there were 101.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.6 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $36,477, and the median income for a family was $38,750. Males had a median income of $22,292 versus $18,333 for females. The
Eagle Nest Lake
Eagle Nest Lake State Park is New Mexico's newest state park, and a popular camping, fishing and sightseeing attraction. A new visitor center was scheduled opened in 2010. The main game fish caught in the 2,400-acre (10 km2) lake are kokanee salmon and rainbow trout.

Snowfall is fairly heavy, averaging 62.8 in (159.5 cm) and reaching 140 in (355.6 cm) between July 1934 and June 1935, but the abundant sunshine and relatively low latitude limit cover even in mid-winter to 4 in (10.2 cm).
