Edgar "Puddinghead" Battle (October 3, 1907 – February 6, 1977) was an American jazz multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger.[1] He performed on trumpet, trombone, saxophone, and keyboard.[1]
Early life and education
Battle was born into a musical family in
Morris Brown University in 1921. The group changed their name to Dixie Ramblers a few years later.[2]
Career
Battle played with
Rudy Vallee, and Count Basie.[3]
During
Personal life
Edgar Battle died in New York in February 1977, at the age of 69.[5]
