History

Farber was platted in 1872.^[4] The community was named for Silas W. Farber, owner of the land upon which the village now stands.^[5] A post office has been in operation at Farber since 1872.^[6]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.28 square miles (0.73 km²), all land.^[7]
