Summary

Description
English: The AIGA symbol for First Aid, in a red color.
This was the original symbol. It was phased out in the early 2000s, as the Red Cross started more actively stating and demanding the removal of the Red Cross as a generic symbol for first aid services, due to it being a violation of the Geneva Convention. (Official Signs & Icons 2, Mies Hora)

It was superseded by a cross symbol of the same design, but colored green.
