In dit werk met heerlijke melodieën en momenten van treffende schoonheid wisselen ensembles in hoog tempo af met solo’s, recitatieven en dialogen. Alarcóns inventieve instrumentatie en de ritmische scherpte van het vocaal ensemble en de muzikanten maken van deze Nabucco een evenement. Au sein de sa Cappella Mediterranea, les percussions exotiques, les flûtes orientales, les violes de gambe et les luths échafaudent ensemble un univers sonore sans égal. La Sicile du XVIIe siècle et la Babylone mythique se fondent l'une dans l'autre. Dans l'oratorio de Falvetti, le roi Nabuchodonosor se laisse prendre au piège de l'orgueil et de l'idolâtrie. Sa soif de pouvoir s'accompagne d'angoisse et d'un sentiment de malaise. Trois jeunes chefs de file se révoltent et subissent une mort atroce, tandis que la majorité silencieuse observe les événements. Dans cette œuvre aux mélodies merveilleuses, émaillée de moments d'une beauté poignante, les ensembles alternent à un rythme soutenu avec les solos, récitatifs et dialogues. L'instrumentation ingénieuse d'Alarcón et l'intensité rythmique de l'ensemble vocal font de ce « Nabucco » un authentique événement. English: The flamboyant Argentine Leonardo Garcia Alarcón is coming back! In his 'Cappella Meditarranea', exotic percussion, oriental flutes, gambas and lutes together make up a unique world of sound. Seventeenth-century Sicily and the mythical Babylon merge into one. In Falvetti's oratorio, King Nebuchadnezzar falls into the trap of pride and idolatry. In his thirst for power he is troubled by fear and unease. Three young administrators are killed horrifically while the silent majority just looks on. In this work with its delightful melodies and moments of striking beauty, ensemble passages alternate rapidly with solos, recitatives and dialogues. Alarcón's inventive instrumentation and the rhythmic precision of the vocal ensemble and the musicians make this 'Nabucco' a special event. |
