English: Congressman Scott Murphy (D), who currently represents New York's 20th congressional district, during a campaign stop in Brunswick, New York during the 2009 special election. The seat became open when Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (former Represenatative from the 20th district) replaced Hillary Clinton, who joined the Obama Administartion as the United States Secretary of State. Gillibrand was appointed by Governor David Paterson. |
