Francisco Sans Cabot, in Catalan: Francesc Sans i Cabot (9 April 1828 in Girona – 5 May 1881 in Madrid) was a Catalan painter who served as Director of the Museo del Prado from 1873 to 1881.

Biography

His father was a navigator in the

Hispano-Moroccan War.[2]

After the overthrow of Queen Regent

Francisco de Goya, which had been removed from the walls at Goya's home and transferred to canvas by Salvador Martínez Cubells, a well-known art restorer. After 1875, Sans was an Academician at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.[1]

Towards the end of his life, he changed his style again, this time trending towards
