Gabeba Baderoon
Gabeba Baderoon (born 21 February 1969) is a South African poet and academic. She is the 2005 recipient of the
Penn State.[1]
Early years and education
Gabeba Baderoon was born in
Media Studies at the University of Cape Town, the same year spending time at the University of Sheffield, UK, as a visiting scholar. She also completed her dissertation entitled "Oblique Figures: Representations of Islam in South African Media and Culture." She divides her life between Port Elizabeth and Pennsylvania.[citation needed
