The city was named after

Thomas Ray Hamer (1864–1950), a United States Representative from Idaho.[4]

Geography

Hamer is located at 43°55′2″N 112°11′53″W / 43.91722°N 112.19806°W / 43.91722; -112.19806 (43.917085, -112.198009).[5]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.19 square miles (0.49 km2), all of it land.[6]

Climate

cold semi-arid climate, abbreviated "BSk" on climate maps. The hottest temperature recorded in Hamer was 105 °F (40.6 °C) on July 20, 1960 and August 12, 1990, while the coldest temperature recorded was −48 °F (−44.4 °C) on January 1, 1979.[7]
