The House of the Estates (Finnish: Säätytalo, Swedish: Ständerhuset) is a historical building in Helsinki, Finland. It is located opposite of the Bank of Finland building, immediately northeast of Helsinki Cathedral.

It was built in 1888-1890 and inaugurated in January 1891. Architect Gustaf Nyström designed the building.[1] The tympanum depicting Alexander I at the 1809 Diet of Finland was sculpted by Emil Wikström.[2][3][4]

It housed the three

unicameral parliament of Finland. The parliament settled elsewhere, leaving the House of the Estates for secondary usage.[2]

Today, the House of the Estates houses sporadic governmental meetings. It is also the established location for official coalition talks after general elections and for the sessions of
