Provisions for the Office have been made possible through financial support from the Cultural Foundation of the German States (German: Kulturstiftung der Länder). Funds totaling a million euros are assigned each year from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media to support the investigation and study of the provenance of cultural artifacts.
