Johan Christiaan "JC" Oberholzer (born 14 November 1989 in Krugersdorp) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with the Leopards.[1] His regular position is hooker.

Career

Youth and Varsity rugby

He represented the Golden Lions at the Under–18 Academy Week competition in 2006 and the Under–18 Craven Week competition in 2007, which also resulted in his inclusion in the South African Schools squad in the same year.

In 2008, he moved to Potchefstroom where he joined the Leopards and university side NWU Pukke. He played for the Leopards U19 side in 2008 and for the Leopards U21 side in 2009 and 2010.

Leopards

He made his first class debut for the Leopards during the 2010 Currie Cup Premier Division. Although he was an unused substitute in their match against Griquas,[2] his debut came two weeks later in their match against the Sharks in Durban.[3]

He only played Vodacom Cup rugby in 2011 and 2012, making two appearances in both competitions. One more appearance followed in the 2013 before a return to Currie Cup action saw him play three times during the 2013 Currie Cup First Division. He also played for the Leopards in 2014.

Eastern Province Kings

At the start of 2014, he joined

Port Elizabeth-based side Eastern Province Kings on a trial,[4] but returned to the Leopards before the start of the 2014 Vodacom Cup
