J M Hans is an Indian
cochlear implants[5] and is a member of the advisory boards of the Union Public Service Commission and World Health Organization (WHO).[6] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri
in 2005, for his contributions towards medicine.
